Live at the Gantries is a free concert series that is open to the public. People can anticipate watching a vast assemblage of groups. The shows will be held by Kupferberg Center for the Arts beginning on July 20, 2021 starting with a performance by the Grammy-winning Salsa and Latin Jazz group Supermambo. They will perform with special guest Jeremy Bosch, a Grammy-winning composer and singer. The audience can expect to hear original songs that describe a Latin superhero who combines the comic book world with Salsa. On July 27 the Queens-based band known as George Gee Big Band will perform a mix of Swing and Jazz music. The following Tuesday people will have the opportunity to watch Music From the Soul, as they honor tap dance’s jazz and improvisation roots and perform original tap music. On August 10th the Gentlemen of Soul will perform Soul, R&B, and Dance music. A guitarist, vocalist, and composer, known as Yesser Tejeda will play Bachata on August 17th. The final act will be held on August 24th as a band known as On The Sun will perform their own groove genre they created that includes Classic and Contemporary Soul, Funk, Americana, R&B, and Psychedelia music. This event will take place at Gantry Plaza State Park in the vicinity of 49th Avenue and Center Boulevard in Long Island City. There will be performances on six consecutive Tuesdays, starting at 7 pm every night.
